Writer Update: Sensitivity Labels / Unified Labeling has been deployed within M365 GCC. In turn, this article is out of date.
If you have a tenant within GCC and have been searching endlessly for the Sensitivity tab within the Security and Compliance Center, don’t worry. You’re in good company.
To date, the Unified Labeling Store has not been enabled within the Government Community Cloud. The latest article that I’ve been able to track down was from March of 2020.
Announcing Timelines for Sunsetting Label Management in the Azure Portal and AIP Client (Classic)
“We expect unified labeling will be available to Office 365 U.S. Government Community (GCC) services in the second half of 2020. Meanwhile GCC customers who own licenses for AIP will receive continued support for the classic client for 12 months after general availability of unified labeling for GCC cloud. Extended support requests for GCC customers are not required.”
So, we know that on the commercial side, the Azure Information Protection Classic Client is schedule to be deprecated March 31, 2021. This means that we should expect the AIP Client (Classic) to be deprecated for use toward the end of March, 2020.
